The word desert, in the collective imagination, conjures up an arid environment where existence for all forms of life is challenged. Each desert has its own peculiarities, but there is one desert that is unique, Namaqualand, the largest flowering desert in the world.
From the second half of August to the first half of September, Namaqualand desert is completely covered in a colourful carpet thanks to the numerous white, orange, yellow and pink flowers.
When to visit the Namaqualand desert?
Namaqualand desert can be visited in the most interesting areas with a 4×4 vehicle and it is possible to stay in a mobile camp consisting of very few units, in the middle of the largest bouquet of flowers.
