Guatemala

Guatemala is the centerpiece of the Mayan world, with a history dating back some 4,000 years, a period when the Mayan civilization emerged, and whose legacy is still visible today through the traditions and culture of its people. It is a country full of cultural and natural richness and with ease of travel, as distances from one place to another are short, allowing several regions to be visited in the same trip. Known as the country of eternal spring, it enjoys a climate that allows it to be visited at all times of the year. Also famous for its artisan markets, chock-full of regional colors and customs; for the hospitality of the people; for the beauty of the landscapes; and for its volcanoes, lakes, rivers, and mountains. Guatemala is home to the largest number of Mayan archaeological sites, with astonishing flora and fauna, and where the mystery of the Mayan world still remains visible in ancient cities such as Tikal, Yaxhá, Aguateca, Mirador, and Quiriguá.
